The Spartan Ethic Redux

Michael Steele is denouncing the allegations that he inappropriately - if not illegally - paid his sister to work on his 2006 campaign.

Steele, who was Maryland's lieutenant governor from 2003 to 2007, said the claim of improper payments to his sister's defunct business and other allegations reported Saturday in The Washington Post were leveled by a "convicted felon" and are "all false."

Of course, it doesn't matter that the "convicted felon" in this case was a former GOP fundraising bigwig.

Once again, with feeling: it's only wrong if you get caught.
